ROLE PURPOSE - Finance Manager

Lead the process to prepare monthly and annual accounts, and ensure we obtain maximum value from our financial systems. Also provide advice, and develop policies, to ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other government financial requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Finance Manager

  • Ensure the timely production of complete and accurate financial and management accounts, and associated reconciliations and records
  • Manage and co-ordinate the delivery of the group's Annual Report and Accounts, which will involve stakeholder engagement with colleagues across the business
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of Police payment accounting - including invoice input, payments and reconciliations
  • Ensure the requisitioning function delivers to business requirements
  • Ensure the team has the required capacity, capability and focus to deliver the priorities and objectives
  • Ensure CLIENT complies with the relevant accounting standards and tax requirements, including HM Treasury's Financial Reporting Manual (FReM)
  • Maintain appropriate policies that support the CLIENT financial control framework
  • Monitor and forecast CLIENT cashflows to ensure CLIENT has sufficient cash to meet future requirements

    Essential profession

    Experience

    • Preparing annual reports and monthly management accounts (IFRS experience)
    • Provide advice on complex accounting and tax issues
    • Developing financial policies, frameworks and procedures
    • Experience implementing significant change in processes and culture in a financial environment
    • Working with and developing financial systems (Oracle systems knowledge Mandatory)

    Other Information

    This role will require occasional travel between the Liverpool and Darlington CLIENT sites
