Senior Engineering Manager - CONTRACT
Key: Technology Transformation, Telecomms, TOGAF, Agile & Waterfall, Optical, MPLS and Wireless transmission technologies, CCTV, Network Management and Service Management Systems
Location: Warwickshire
Duration: Initially 3 months (Very likely to extend)
Rate: Negotiable per day
Our client is urgently looking to secure the services of a Telecommunications Senior Engineering Manager to help lead and deliver a very high profile transformation project.
Experience/Skills required:
* Significant experience of leading engineering teams to deliver technology Transformation programmes
* Significant experience of designing and delivering carrier class networks, and associated management systems
* Significant experience of establishing and managing project engineering governance arrangements
* Demonstrable experience of utilising reference architecture design models eg TOGAF
* Strong project management skills of both agile and waterfall methods in engineering delivery
* Knowledge of Optical, MPLS and Wireless transmission technologies
* Knowledge of CCTV, Network Management and Service Management Systems
Role:
* The Senior Engineering Manager will ensure designs and engineering activities meet contractual customer requirements and incorporate considerations of health and safety, environment and sustainability, security, and reduced maintenance costs; ensuring designs are standards based and provide scale and flexibility.
* You will also manage manage all test environments and running of all testing activities and the technical documentation and engineering aspects of customer's "get consent" process;
* The Senior Engineering Manager will be responsible for the management of engineering team responsible for engineering governance and testing activities including establishment and management of end-to-end engineering governance processes, tools and standards for the project and maintenance of technical compliance for all designs and Assets within the network, for the life of the Agreement, while ensuring that engineering designs and solutions incorporate considerations of health and safety, environment and sustainability, security, and reduced maintenance costs and that engineering designs are standards based, provide scale and flexibility, and future proof to accommodate changes in the Customer's requirements.
* You will lead the Test team in delivery of all testing required as part of the Transformation programme and take ownership of the release and testing activities for all new services, assets, software assets, and patches for assets in the network ensuring that all test environments meet requirements of the test programme and the design assurance process;
* The role also requires someone who can representing telent at technical meetings with the customer, and liaise with the Customer's technical lead and technical approvals team as required and other Engineering Managers across the business, in relation to governance, processes, standards and tools.
* Deputy leadership of the Transformation Director as required, which may involve customer liaison, staff management, budgeting and planning, design and development activities etc.
