Currently hiring for a Senior Data Engineer/Technical Designer for our leading oil & gas client to be based in Central London for a contract basisSeeking a talented and experienced individual to fulfil a role within the Data Platform team that is designing and directing the build of a Microsoft Azure based data platform.
The platform is a base for the delivery of data and analytics solutions for a variety of workstreams. The critical focus for the role is extracting, transforming and loading data from the trading ETRM system into a solution that can run calculations, display data visually and provide drill-down capability for users.
Key Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Knowledge and experience of designing, building & operating Microsoft Azure data solutions; Data Lake, Data Factory, Functions
- Ability to work with the business and solution architects to translate requirements into technical designs
- VSTS/Azure DevOps experience for repository, build/deploy pipelines and work item management
- Understands technical best practices for solution delivery including effective testing approaches
Desired:
- Building scalable analytic and transformation processes with Spark/DataBricks
- Experience with ETRM systems and data models
- Data visualisation tools and technologies
