MEP Design Engineer

My Client is seeking an Intermediate MEP Design Engineer. Travel is expected.

  • 7+ years' experience with MEP systems evaluation, design, and construction oversight (construction administration) experience with large-scale corporate office and data center projects.
  • Lead assessments of data center facilities including interviews of facilities' engineering, operations & maintenance staff to document detailed understanding of architecture/structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, network connectivity, and security systems supporting the facility
  • Act as technical authority, working with client internal teams and also 3rd party contractors in order to validate design
  • Experience evaluating and developing detailed engineering designs for data centers of varying scale and resilience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Shell, wholesale, and retail colocation service offerings
  • Experience brokering colocation site selection
  • Competence with leading Computer Aided Design (CAD) packages (AutoCAD, Revit) with ability to create comprehensive design packages
  • Exceptional client-facing skills, with requisite verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate technical details, cost/schedule/risk tradeoffs, field coordination challenges, and general construction progress
  • Ability to effectively manage numerous simultaneous projects, balancing the ebbs and flows of the typical evaluation, design, construction, and BAU process
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous construction projects and establishing remote management systems to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Commercial experience, including new construction and retrofits of existing facilities
  • Excellent communication skills that include both verbal and written presentations
  • Strong Control of Risks, Issues and Change
  • Strong Understanding of IT Team Interdependencies
  • Cross IT Discipline Transformation
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and abroad
