HP uCMDB Consultant x 2
We are looking for 2 uCMDB consultants for one of our clients. The consultant will able to help our customers with the design, architecture, implementation and configuration of HP configuration management tools: uCMDB, Discovery (DDMa, DDMi, UD) and associated tools such as Configuration Manager and UCMDB Browser. Filling team role related to the deployment, design and maintenance of discovery, CI maintenance and service/application modelling within the uCMDB context; Implementation and maintenance of integrations between uCMDB and other tools, both HP-based (Service Manager, Release Control, BSM) and external tools.
Job Responsibilities
Providing consultation and recommendations to clients with respect to design, architecture, implementation and configuration of HP configuration management tools:
Identify and document customer requirements for discovery and modelling of CIs, applications and services
Guide customers to align defined requirements with industry recommended best practices
Design and architect technical solution for deployment of tools; work with teams to achieve consensus on design/architecture, and communicate the design to the client
Define and document modelling standards; develop models according to standards; mentor junior consultants and customer staff in modelling skills
Develop uCMDB application views and perspectives to support report creation and data presentation
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents involving configuration management tools; work with HP to open and track support cases on behalf of the customer(s) when necessary
Configure and activate integrations among HP and non-HP tools as they relate to configuration management
Work in conjunction with experts in Service Management, Event Management and Monitoring to ensure that processes are correctly integrated with configuration management across all disciplines
Job Requirements
Education Required: 4-year university degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in corporate, military or government environment working in a hands-on role with HP Configuration Management tools (uCMDB, DDMa, DDMi, UD)
Preferred Skills/knowledge
ITIL Foundations Certification
HP uCMDB certification
Understanding of Jython Scripting and the under the cover mechanics of the discovery (desired, not required)
Demonstrated understanding of the role of configuration management in supporting and facilitating other IT Service Management Processes, such as Incident Management, Change Management, Request Management and Problem Management
Expert TQL query development skills
Expert understanding of HP approved modelling methodologies and best practices
