A Security Cleared Platform Transition and Acceptance Manager is required to work on a Maritime Environment Project in Corsham

The role will take responsibility for managing and co-ordinating all aspects of the project's platform transition activities on behalf of the Project Manager and Test & Transition Manager and leading the project's Field Support Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement coherent Platform Transition & Acceptance Plans for the rollout of NSoIT on HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales
  • Brings together all relevant elements and inputs and effectively concludes project delivery against the defined requirement set and achievement of compliance against DPS and Maritime technical standards.
  • To define a (set of) generic template(s) for Platform Transition & Acceptance Plans for current & future fleet implementation by the future body responsible for those implementations, noting that different plans may be required for different implementation opportunities (eg FTSP, Refit, Upkeep periods)
  • To liaise with and support the NSOIT(D) Integrated Test & Trials (IT&T) Function in the execution of their responsibilities in delivering the required test and trial evidence for final acceptance (ie to enable the MEP Project Manager to endorse a CCU on behalf of ISS).
  • To support (on behalf of MEP) the required actions from MEP and other parties to demonstrate what levels of interoperability between platforms with differing ICS systems will be achieved as part of the overall transition of platforms over to NSOIT(D). This also includes developing, planning & executing the required business continuity of mandatory shipboard services during new system implementation as part of platform transition and acceptance plans.
  • Liaise with and support CAP RM Requirements Team and IT&T function in the development of the customer endorsed VVRM and requirement set such that acceptance criteria for the project's deliveries can be clearly demonstrated.
  • Lead and manage Field Support Teams (FST) to ensure that they are suitable skilled and able to support the NSoIT(D) systems deployment to platforms throughout the trials and delivery life cycle as required by the Transition & Acceptance Plan.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and advice to the Project and Programme teams for system integration and acceptance and the application of Maritime and Defence integration and evaluation processes.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Must hold valid Security Clearance
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Maritime experience
  • Experience in the delivery of projects; with particular emphasis on the management of suppliers and stakeholders
  • Experience of governance and risk control frameworks
  • Good planning and organisational skills Strong leadership; people and communications skills
  • Possess strong analytical skills with a proven ability to persuade and influence senior decision-making.
