Key Responsibilities
- Problem understanding and root cause analysis, requirements/acceptance development, feasibility studies, concept design and engineering analysis activities.
- Equipment and system design definition to critical design review (CDR) maturity in line with all relevant governance processes and technical/safety/quality requirements.
- Undertake design substantiation via calculation for marine mechanical systems and equipment. This shall include mechanical simulation/analysis in the areas of structures, fluids and heat transfer, incorporating appropriate optimisation and v&v routines.
- The integration, commissioning, test, trial and acceptance of design solutions.
Key skills & qualifications
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering capability across a broad set of challenges to meet the needs of specific Naval platforms, the EPG team and the customer programme.
