Job Title: Technical Lead (RDK)

Our client, a multinational information technology organisation and one of the top 10 largest employers in the world across all sectors is currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Lead (RDK) based in Brentwood, Essex.
They are at the forefront of new technology and innovation, constantly setting as well as breaking the mould on boundaries within the technology and business sector.
Domain Knowledge Requirements
* Technical knowledge of RDK
* Component oriented software architecture solutions, merits and challenges including hands on exposure in relevant paradigms
* Embedded Linux based software architecture with strong attention to bootloaders, MTD partitioning, filesystems, data storage and migration
* In-home connectivity products and technologies covering
o Broadband service delivery
o Video streaming delivery
* WAN Network technologies & protocols including ADSL, VDSL, Fibre, GPON
* LAN Network technologies & protocols including Ethernet & WiFi
* Mesh network technologies, principles of operation, differences of implementation and scope for issues around interoperability
* End to end software development, from requirements capture, design, development, test and post release maintenance
* CPE end-to-end ecosystems including device provisioning & management, diagnostics and service delivery
Personal Skill requirements
* Ability to identify knowledge gaps and obtain, share and leverage new knowledge to close
* Ability to tackle complex problem spaces with high degree of unknowns with outcome of clear & communicable vision of solutions
* Produce persuasive technical guidance based by obtaining pertinent factual as basis of compelling steer
* Articulate clearly and succinctly both orally and in written documentation
* Can function across multiple stakeholders with potentially conflicting views to drive consensus and alignment employing compromise as appropriate
Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership & steer over RDK development issues by collating, incubating and applying relevant technical knowledge
* Deep dive into RDK quantifying problem space. Exploring different solution alternatives and make qualified recommendations based on analysis plus supporting data
* Obtain detailed understanding Embedded network product development including migration from currently deployed technology to RDK and provide source of authoritative reference to multiple stakeholders of different levels of technical understanding
* Software Requirements Management; capturing, maintaining, circulating for any development work around RDK based network products.
