Remote working is typical on a Friday.
Purpose
Experienced Power BI Developer required to work in Utilities company, designing and producing compelling dashboards with market leading visualisation tool Power BI.
The developer will design, implement and deploy datasets, reports and dashboards to shared and premium workspaces based on requirements agreed with the business analysts and taken from the product backlog.
The company follow Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
Key Responsibilities
* Importing data from established databases (such as SQL Server, Oracle and SAP), flat files (such as Excel, .csv) and ad hoc data sources (such as the Web or external APIs)
* Datamodelling in Power BI including star schema and relationships, one-to-one and one-to-many relationships
* Compelling report and dashboard design, including innovative use of visualisations (including custom ones) for effective story telling
* Solid report design principles including arrangement, proportion, style and composition. Effective choice and use of right visualisations depending on data and desired outcome
* Adding measures and calculated columns to columns where appropriate
* Demos to peers and senior stakeholders
Essential Skills and Experience
The following are required:
* Experience extracting data from common data sources such as: SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, flat files, APIs
* Data ingestion/munging/ETL
* Report and Dashboard design
* Languages: SQL, Power Query, DAX
* Familiar with cloud and Microsoft Azure platform
* Familiar with Power BI online service and Premium features
Desirable Skills and Experience
The following analysis skills are preferred in addition to essential skills:
* SAP and Power BI together
* Power BI map components including ArcGIS, MapBox, Shape Maps etc
* R or Python
* Worked with infrastructure, cloud concepts and environments
* Worked in Agile teams and contributed to ceremonies
* Use of Jira to pick up and report progress of work
