*6+ Month Contract role, no 3rd party candidate will be considered*
Prestigious Financial Institution is currently seeking a Linux Systems Engineer for server administration and application support. Candidate will be responsible for application deployment and configuration and trouble-shooting, as well as be comfortable with administering the Linux platform.
Responsibilities:
Mission critical applications for all managed environments.
Application deployments and providing second level support of these applications.
Correctly work the resolution of the problem (escalating in a timely manner as needed).
Notify the appropriate levels of management about the problem
Document the problem, actions, and notifications taken during its resolution. He or she must also obtain the correct level of authorization for actions taken during problem resolution
Follow through with problem troubleshooting until completion or execute proper hand-off if required.
Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet project deadlines. This may include later or earlier starting/ending times and weekend work would be needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Linux system administration experience with root access in a production environment.
- 3+ years experience with SQL and Relational databases
- 3+ years of Unix Scripting.
- In-depth understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems, AWS Cloud, and networking.
