My client in Fareham, Hampshire are seeking Research Officer on an initial three month contract basis.
This role is ideal for a post graduate in a social science related subject. It's an exciting time to join the team, as they are making rapid developments to their methodology for estimating migration. You'll play a key part in providing the best assessment yet of migration and analysing new administrative data sources to deliver a high quality evidence base.
The role is paying £19.18 per hour, 37 hours per week.
- Delivering high quality statistics and analysis to influence decision making
- Using analytical software packages and techniques
- Developing new methods for using administrative data sources to measure migration
- Working proactively with customers to identify requirements, share knowledge and information
- Taking responsibility for aspects of statistical production, including quality assurance
- Explaining and communicating analytical findings to expert and non-expert stakeholders
- Innovating and solving problems in data analysis and research
Person specification:
- Experience in the practical application of analysis or research with an in-depth knowledge of data sources. Experience analysing large datasets.
- Good coding skills (eg SAS, Python) are desirable
- Ability to manage own workload and contribute to production of official statistics and research
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis to non-specialists
- Ability to work as part of a team to deliver high quality analysis, often to tight deadlines
