We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Site Reliability Engineer, based within the Global Information Security Technology team in our Chester AFC Office.
Within this role, you will be focused on the reliability and maintainability of Enterprise wide services developed by Cyber Security Technology as part of Global Information Security at the business. The successful candidate will work with the Dev Ops, Development and Testing teams to enhance automation, logging, monitoring, observability, infrastructure configuration, Scripting languages, and application and network protocols.
Just as important as your technical experience will be your ability to connect and work with people. A positive team atmosphere is very important to us so we are looking for people who can collaborate well. The role involves interaction with Business stakeholders as well as other Technical teams globally across the company, so we are looking for excellent relationship building and communication skills.
As a Site Reliability Engineer, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Previous Systems Engineering and Deployment experience
- Previous Application Management and Support experience

- Understanding of software and/or application life cycle and the implementation of security principals throughout

- Understanding of complex environments, their sub-components, concepts, and interactions

- Experience with databases and associated query languages

- Experience in security vulnerability remediation

- Deep understanding of large networks and systems and the interaction between applications, infrastructures, etc.

- Experience in Scripting/automation languages
- Proficient in Windows and Linux server support and access systems

- A broad knowledge of information security principles

- Ability to work independently on initiatives with little oversight
- Strong analytical skills/problem solving/conceptual thinking; out-of-the-box thinkers
- Ability to identify, analyze, and address problems to resolve issues in a way that minimizes negative impact and risk to the organization
- Ability to be comfortable delivering messages across a wide spectrum of individuals having varying degrees of technical understanding
