Our client is designing for a bid secure PaaS (Platform as a Service) on a provided IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) hosting which are both based around VMware products. We need to address both VDI and server hosting using the full spectrum of VMware tools, particularly NSX. The key points are around designing "software defined network services", multi tenanted hosting and micro-segmentation within the virtualised platform. We have a range of COTS products to host and some custom in house applications. The focus is developing a secure, dynamic, flexible, automated and orchestrated network capability which heavily controls traffic flow between VDI or thick clients and application services, restricting east-west flow between services and tenants.
