Design Engineer

Scotstoun

6 Month Contract

£35 per hour LTD

Advantage Resourcing are currently looking for a design engineer for a global defence organisation based in Scotstoun for a global defence organisation. This is a 6 month contract paying £35.00 per hour LTD.

The job will be working on some of the most bespoke and advanced naval warships in the country and they are looking for someone to come in and review design maturity for the ships. The role will be fast paced and will expose you to new technology helping you gain news skills for future employment.

We are looking for people who have the following skills:

  • Engineering knowledge to develop maintain and evolve processes and guidance to control, manage and measure engineering artefact maturity.
  • Managing the Engineering Technical Maturity, through coordinating Zonal Reviews and designating/implementing Maturity Targets relating to transition gates.
  • Management of Engineering Quality Issues and Stakeholder Observations relating to Compartment Plan Approvals
  • Windchill Document and Process Management
  • Interacting with all stakeholders in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and issues and manage scope and priorities
  • Organised and self-motivated, capable of providing accurate information in a timely manner.
  • Experience of communicating engineering issues and providing specifications for toolset developments, including communications, training and support of deployed toolsets and reports.
  • STEM Degree, working towards a degree or equivalent qualification, or level of experience working within an engineering discipline

Desirable skills will include:

  • LCM Governance, practical experience of Design or phase Reviews, knowledge of Maturity Management.
  • T26 GCS Engineering Processes, Toolsets and project reporting toolsets
  • Experience producing Excel Spreadsheets and graphical representation of data.
  • Ability to produce Technical Information providing supporting evidence of assurance to all stakeholders
  • Experience of Process Confirmations or Audit activities.
  • Stakeholder Management and excellent communication skills
  • Professional Registration, working toward Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
