Description
An urgent role has arisen based in St Albans for a IT Hardware engineer to work at part of the pre-configuration Deployment Team.
Essential Skills and Experience Required:
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware
- Experience in IT configuration/computer building
- Experience troubleshooting and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PC's.
- Knowledge of PC hardware, computer architecture and MS operating systems.
- Knowledge of PC/IT industry.
- Good knowledge of server configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure and prepare machines for hardware and software installation.
- Install and configure software products as per customers specifications.
- Diagnose and repair faulty machines.
- Assist with the installation/imaging, configuration of desktop computers, laptops & peripheral equipment and software.
- Liaising with customers with technical queries.
- Test parts and software where required.
- Assist with any other tasks in the workshop such as packing and unpacking machines.
- Maintain high levels of quality within configuration.
- Complete a minimum number of units (including installations, repairs, parts testing etc) per month.
