Description

My client designs and develops key components for flat panel digital televisions. Their software is deployed in products destined for European and worldwide markets. They have many years of experience with traditional DVB broadcast systems and expertise in interactive TV and IPTV technologies.

Currently they are looking for a Senior Software Engineer.

The role involves
1. Designing diverse parts of a digital television system, which may range from the user interface to the driver level. The majority of this software shall be designed using a combination of MS Word documents and UML2 (with a variety of tools). Good written English skills are essential.
2. Implementing these designs in various Embedded systems to a high standard. The majority of this software shall be implemented in C++.
3. Working from both internal design specifications and international standards.
4. Ensuring that work packages meet requirements, pass quality standards and are integrated with other parts of the system.
The group requires a high calibre engineer with a solid background in software engineering including design with a 'can-do' attitude, creative mindset and research/cutting edge technology experience.
You will have a degree in Electronics, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related discipline, an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted. PhD will be a significant advantage.
You will also have 5 years hands on commercial C++ experience (on Embedded linux), and have experience of UML. Experience in IP streaming, video/audio and open source technologies are nice to have also.
