Description

On behalf of our client, an international finance institute located in Luxembourg, we are looking for an external resource with skills and abilities as stated below:
Middleware Software Engineer - ActiveMQ Messagebroker Infrastructure (f/m/x) financial area Luxembourg - P904
Field of activity
IT Section builds, maintains and operates a portfolio of applications which provide clients state of the art solutions to standardise fund processing, and to increase efficiency and safety in the investment funds sector.
Our global funds processing platform Vestima+ allows for reaching all types of funds, from mutual funds to ETFs and hedge funds. 

Tasks/responsibilities

You will take responsibilities in a broad range of architecture, infrastructure and security engineering activities, covering the entire IFS IT landscape. As such, you will be a key member of the working group in charge of designing, delivering for, and supporting those areas.

Your assignments will include:

  • Designing, developing and delivering Messaging Middleware, Application Server and Web server infrastructures
  • Participating in the creation and documentation of the architecture and security of IFS systems
  • Assessing new infrastructure solutions and innovative technologies, including around public Cloud services
  • Maintaining and developing the related automation frameworks and DevOps connectors, including their documentation
  • Managing in autonomy the relation with the development teams to which you will be delivering Middleware infrastructure
  • Working with the other group members, reporting to the group lead
  • Participating in approx. 4 major production implementations each year (Saturday work)
  • Interacting with the Middleware software vendor's support engineers
  • Application Server technical configurations (especially Weblogic/JMS)

Qualifications/required skills

  • University Degree (or equivalent) in a computer science
  • Experience in messaging Middleware infrastructure especially Redhat A-MQ (Active MQ Message Broker) product.
  • Ability to understand the challenges posed by Application Server infrastructures, especially in the areas of messaging, web servicing, threading, transaction management and security
  • Ability to structure and document architecture; good English technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of installing, deploying, operating and supporting a Web application infrastructure including a Web server (Apache httpd ) and a standard Java server (RedHat JBoss EAP, Oracle Weblogic Server, Tomcat ) is an asset
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS (PKI) and certificate/key deployment
  • Practical experience in the following technologies:
    • Linux OS
    • Version Control System, preferably Git
    • JavaEE services/APIs and their configuration in an Application Server
    • IDE (preferably Eclipse)
    • XML and XML Schema
    • Apache Maven
    • Additional assets will be: experience with public Cloud services and APIs (preferably Microsoft Azure); experience with Apache Maven, Ansible, Ant, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift.
  • Experience in the Java programming language. Experience in using or implementing Java server components (preferably with JavaEE APIs) will be an asset
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; French and German language skills will be an asset.
    -Single Sign On using SAML2.
    -Ability to detect security issues on existing/proposed implementations.
    -Networking: ports, subnets, dmz, VLANS, etc. Ability to read network topology
    -Load balancing concepts. Knowledge of F5 nice to have.
    -Apache: configuration of virtual hosts, certificates, etc.
    -Very good RedHat Linux knowledge
