Working within the Creative Team, the team are looking for an Illustrator to join the operations. This person is going to be responsible for designing book jackets, interiors and promotional materials (among other things). Interview process will be 2 stage (1st Virtual, 2nd Face to face) Looking to get someone started mid-February.

Description:
Responsible for concept and design of such things as book jackets, interiors, promotional materials and for all visuals in print and online (ie, design, graphics and pictures). Assists in the development of visual designs, communication and art concepts, and their implementation. Includes conceptualizing book covers; packaging designs; preparing specifications, layouts, and sketches; researching new sources; recommends creative photographs and/or artists for these programs and project designs from type specifications to the final stages of proof.

The brief:
The Experience Design team here are looking for an Illustrator to create design patterns, illustrations and animations to use in digital products for young learners, from ages 3 to 16. The team We are a friendly and knowledgeable team of 12+ user experience designers and researchers. We work collaboratively with our design team in the US who are creating similar design assets for adult learners.

Minimum Required Skills:
* You are an experienced Illustrator, able to work autonomously and as part of a wider creative team
* You have proven experience in a range of different organisations and sectors
* You understand atomic design principles and design systems
* You have experience of presenting and explaining your work to stakeholders, and iterating according to their feedback
* You are a storyteller and can convey a compelling narrative for design decisions to the wider team
* You have experience working on digital products, children's illustrations and character design
* You have an original style of illustration
* You have a solid understanding of motion design, animation and micro-interactions
* You have experience working with teams around the world

Desirable:
* You can animate in 2D and use motion programs such as After Effects to bring characters to life.
* You have worked on a design system
* You have experience of using Figma

Minimum Education Requirement:
Formal training in illustration, fine art or graphic design
