Description
For one of our clients on the location of Erskine we are looking for your expertise as Virtualisation Engineer with expertise in VMware and vSphere technologies plus proven scripting skills in PowerCLI.Your Responsibilities:
• Write and maintain scripts written in PowerCLI for automated VMware product deployment and management.
• Utilise a broad spectrum of technology to produce parts or all of the technical solution for the clients of our customer.
• Apply depth and breadth of technical knowledge and be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.
• Contribute to knowledge tools and communities, proactively support automation and ensure learnings are shared for reuse.
• You may be expected to work across the range of different projects and customers.
Core Skills and Experience:
• Strong VMware vSphere product experience in designing and engineering solutions
• Strong VMware product administration, hardening and troubleshooting experience
• Strong PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting skills and experience
• Understanding of virtual and physical server infrastructure capacity, scaling and operation
• Able to write clear and concise implementation and operation guides
Desirable Skills and Experience:
• VMware NSX, VSAN, SRM & vRealize product experience
• Storage experience, preferably Netapp
• Configuration Management
• Experience of infrastructure deployment and management tooling including the use of XML files
• Enterprise networking
• Windows Server OS
• Active Directory and Group Policy
• Terminal Services, Citrix XenApp, VDI
