Public Relations Specialist - Digital

Location: London

Contract: 3 months

We're currently recruiting on behalf of an Elite Sporting organisation for a Public Relations Specialist to join them on a contractual basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and managing business engagement with all media, both domestic and international, promoting the work and marketing campaigns of this Digital Venture
  • Defining the communications strategy and the individual business launches, promoting the work and development of associated products
  • Creating all PR assets ready for product launches and for reactive and proactive activity and strategic messages
  • Working closely with the communication team
  • Delivering positive coverage for this Digital Venture within the context of the Elite Sports Organisation
  • Utilising existing senior media relationships with key titles to ensure accurate, positive coverage of the business wherever possible
  • Supporting commercial and marketing efforts
  • Advising and assisting in activating media and marketing campaign requirements with regard to the use of club personnel and playing staff at appropriate moments
  • Developing core lines to take and FAQ related materials for proactive and defensive use with media enquiries
  • Advising and assisting in reputation protection for any communications relating to the Digital Venture
  • Collaborating across all stakeholder input, securing their buy-in and sign-off on strategy and associated materials
  • Defining and agreeing PR information and media enquiry flow across the teams
  • Briefing marketing agencies on our Digital Venture PR strategy (upon which they build product specific PR strategy & activation)

Requirements:

  • Previous PR experience in corporate, tech, design and consumer products at a senior strategic level
  • Experience managing campaigns and events
  • Experience in challenging senior stakeholders to deliver credible and sustainable comms in relation to products
  • Comprehensive understanding of traditional and social media
  • Experience in dealing with high profile personalities and media issues
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to deal with sensitive situations tactfully and maintain confidentially at all times
  • Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team
  • Confident communicator
  • Experience of working effectively within strict deadlines and in a fast-paced media environment, demonstrating strong proof reading and researching skills
  • Highly capable writer for a variety of purposes and audiences
  • An excellent understanding of the digital/app product development and track record of delivering PR campaigns with related products
  • IT self-sufficiency is essential
