Description

Partnered with a global Financial Services company, a grant-giving charity are looking for an Accounting and Operations Associate to come on board. Reporting to and working closely with the UK Financial Controller, you will have responsibility for dealing with queries regarding payments to charities and updating and maintaining the charity database.

You will work with the UK Financial Controller to ensure donations are efficiently paid to UK charities and that information regarding charities and payments is up to date.

This is a 3 month temp contract.

Experience with Excel spreadsheets (large volumes) is essential!

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and maintaining a database of charity pay-outs
  • Investigating and processing uncashed and returned cheques and pay out fails
  • Working closely with Customer Service to resolve enquiries from charities
  • Suggesting, planning, and helping to implement process improvements and automation in order to reduce manual effort and potential for human error
  • Work with the Communication Executive and Cause Executive to advise and determine which monthly communications need to be sent to charities
  • Communicating with charities, via phone and email, to ensure cheques are cashed, and encouraging them to enroll with the business again for future pay-outs
  • Maintain a call out list to top charities to provide an additional element of customer support to encourage their enrollment

Qualifications
The Accounting and Operations Associate will be an efficient and fastidious worker. S/he will have experience in prompt and accurate data logging, and ideally be familiar with the basic rules and operations of non-profit accounting.

Required experience

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), and with experience in a finance function.
  • Highly proficient in using spreadsheet and database tools such as Excel and Access, including familiarity with filters, pivot tables, and vlookups.
  • Experience working in accounting software is required; knowledge of and SAP and Microsoft Dynamics GP is desirable.
