Software Development Head - Domain Owner of Claims

My client seeks a Software Development Head to act as the Product/Domain Owner for a key project with the Claims section of my Insurance client. Experience of Guidewire's Claims centre would be advantageous, as would DevOps experience and knowledge of the London Insurance market a further advantage but not expected.
You will be primarily responsible for product development, delivery and support and provides overall direction to the team. This will involve driving software development across multiple teams and phases to ensure execution of plans you have generated.
Strong knowledge of databases technologies, both relational (Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL) and non-relational database technologies (Memcached, MongoDB and Redis) and of Front End development through ReactJS, Webpack, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, Accessibility and Responsive Layouts UI/UX is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of the strategic vision and roadmap for all Product(s) within their domain.
- Captures and prioritises market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies.
- Establishes the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, conducting feasibility studies, producing high-level business models, and preparing business cases.
- Ensures compliance between business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards and practices.
- Monitors all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle and Production Support
- Prepares business cases, including financial analyses of potential new technologies/systems/applications. Evaluates based on company strategic needs and resource availability.
- Oversees business analysis, development work and quality assurance of projects.
- Contributes to the development of Information Technology development standards, policies, processes and procedures to ensure consistent compatibility and integration.
Skills/Competencies
- Broad knowledge of software development techniques, processes, methods and best practices. Proficiency with various programming languages.
- Knowledge of application test automation products, processes, and best practices
- Proven experience and strong understanding of Agile development and conventional method and its application to company technology needs.
- High level knowledge/expertise in databases development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale business applications.
- Thorough knowledge of databases technologies, both relational (such as Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL) and non-relational database technologies as such as Memcached, MongoDB and Redis.
- Experience with Insurance/Reinsurance Systems and Data highly useful
- High level knowledge/expertise of Front End development including ReactJS, Webpack, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, Accessibility and Responsive Layouts UI/UX development experience.
