Advantage Resourcing are working with a manufacturing company located in the Glascoed area. The business is a large global defence organisation and they are looking for a Mechanical Designer who has experience in Tools & Gauges. This is a great opportunity for a manufacturing Designer to work in a different industry.
The Role30
The Mechanical Designer will be to support Manufacturing and Engineering programmes in the preparation of plant layout and capital equipment layout design with all technical data to define the Plant Tool & Gauge requirements for the site.
The Mechanical will have experience within:
- Design in the field of jigs, tools and fixtures, filling technology, mechanical handling systems, safety interlock systems and fume extraction systems.
- Design complex gauges with a good understanding of related British Standards
- Experience of stress calculation and mitigation related to mechanical components and structures
- 2D/3D CAD
- Plant layouts for a production environment or for safety assessment
- Structural and fabrication design including platforms, flooring, stairways, ladders and fire escapes
- Fluid power circuit design, including pneumatic, electro-pneumatic and hydraulic
- Siemens NX 9 design software and Teamcenter PLM software would be beneficial
You will also need:
* HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design
