Our client is a British Manufacturing company with a global presence. Being in the top 5 defence organisations in the UK, it is engaged in the development, delivery and support of aerospace and defence systems in the air, on land and at sea.
On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Firmware Engineer for an initial six month contract based in Bournemouth.
Purpose of the Role:
- We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to assist in the design, development, and verification of Embedded products. Responsibilities will include adherence to development process, creation of requirements, development of architecture, and design and integration of modules. The development activities will range from low level research to market driven product developments
As a Firmewire Engineer you will be responsible for:
Required duties:
- Development of architecture to fulfil system requirements
- Creation of design and test requirements
- Firmware design and code to implement requirements
- Documentation of design
- Hardware verification
What we require from the candidate:
Must have skills:
- Firmware life cycle development
- VHDL
- Timing closure
- Strong written and oral skills
Nice to have skills:
- Digital hardware design
- HNC Degree level or Qualified by experience
- RTL design
- Requirements capture
- Verification skills
- Have a background in DSP design and verification
- Be familiar with all major FPGA families and microprocessors
- Have an understanding of software and systems engineering principles
- Work to design and coding standards
- Work to configuration standards
IR35 Status: This role has been assessed as inside of IR35.
