Cloud Engineer (Application Migration Project/IBM Infrastructure), £400 per day

6 months rolling, Bolton

Bench IT require an experienced Cloud Engineer to join an enterprise level organisation working form either Bolton.

The successful candidate should provide support across the technologies included below:

  • IBM Blueprint Designer
  • IBM Urbancode Deploy
  • Windows server support skills including software installation
  • Linux server skills including software installation and bash Scripting
  • Understanding of Oracle and SQL databases
  • Shell Scripting
  • Load balancing, networking, Firewalls, security protocols
  • Monitoring tools - Dynatrace, MS SCOM, AppDynamics

Responsibilities of Cloud Engineer:

  • Planning and overseeing the migration from Core IT VMware based Applications to Private Cloud Platform, based on IBM technology
  • Working with multiple teams across the organisation to plan the migrations of applications running on Windows and Linux platforms
  • You will need to understand the Application and its dependencies to ensure a smooth migration
  • Ensure the application performance is baselined pre and post migration to ensure no performance degradation to the end user post migration
  • Oversee the implementation of very complex planned changes
  • Work with the Cloud Operations Centre to deliver and document migrated applications into Production to prescribed standards with the foundations in place to transition and support through warranty into BAU
  • Fully engaged in Change, Incident and Problem management processes and perform all necessary duties to ensure compliance with them
