Volant are a young, up and coming 24 hour satellite broadcaster operating from bustling modern facilities just by Gunnersbury Station, whose 300 people reach 11 million viewers every week. We're seeking a senior contract Android developer with a strong emphasis on product and design to take ownership of UI for an exciting new project.
What we're looking for
- Eye for visual design and user experience. Perhaps you have some informal background in a visual talent predating your Android journey
- Product driven. Your overwhelming focus is on how our app will be enjoyed in the target user's hands, with tech taking second seat except where it affects delivery
- Business focused. We like CVs with stories of tangible products and how you made them happen, we don't read boring buzzword lists
- Strong self starter. You're comfortable exploiting loose requirements to let your creativity and flare shine through
- Great communicator. You can be shielded as much as desired to stay focused, but if you can directly digest and prioritize business requests while keeping to schedule, we'd love that
- Comfortable working in small, fast teams. This placement is ideal for someone with a history of building out applications for startups, where they may have exclusively owned Android, or shared it with a small number of contributors
- Solid background in Android, not just Java
Technology stack
Whether you sling Kotlin or Java, prefer OkHttp to java.net or Ant to Gradle, we don't mind so long as the output is awesome. As the first Android hire, you choose the tools and libraries that make our project a success.
