Description

Java API Developers.

- (Java/Spring Boot)/

As a Software Engineer focusing on Cloud development, you will work on a cross-functional engineering team developing the next generation of Payment Systems. You will have the opportunity to work on the full stack, from the customer-facing web views to the REST APIs on the Back End. Our team collaborates with other departments and development teams throughout the Agile development process. The right candidate will be an empowered self-starter able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Role and responsibilities

  • Design and write code from user stories or lightweight spec documents, working as part of a peer programming Tandem, write unit and integration tests, collaborate with the testing club and other teams
  • Writing API's on RESTful web services
  • MS SQL database development experience
  • Become a product expert in key areas to facilitate higher quality development efforts
  • Implement user interfaces using React or angular components

Must have experience

  • 2+ years designing and developing Java based applications (Springboot, Springcloud)
  • Proficient Java coding skills
  • Application development with Spring Boot or Spring MVC in a production environment
  • Proficient in agile methodologies
  • DevOps mind-set

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must

Nice to have

  • Test driven development experience
  • Experience with Deployment automation tools such as Jenkins. DevOps tools and practices.
  • Experience working with a micro-services architecture (commercial SaaS applications is a plus)

Platform Engineer

This is an opportunity for an experienced Platform Engineer or hands-on to work as part of the engineering platform team (as opposed to infrastructure) as a highly collaborative specialist who will design the strategic and tactical levels of platform automation and DevOps tooling, including CI/CD, automation in general and Real Time monitoring. You will not only be influencing how the Engineering team and development as a whole will work moving forward, providing direction on how to best deliver in a fully agile environment.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a very hands-on role where you will be developing, building and implementing Automation for Cloud based (SaaS/PaaS, AWS), enterprise applications utilising CloudFoundry, Java (Spring, Spring Boot), Aurora DB and choosing the right tools for monitoring.

Must have experience

You will come from a DevOps/platform development orientated background, understanding development pipelines, working within Agile and TDD/BDD and have several years' experience within a similar DevOps role (covering many the technologies mentioned above), working on the successful delivery of large scale Java (Spring) based software applications in a Cloud/SaaS technical architecture. You will have a good knowledge of industry standards in Architecture, APIs, Benchmarks and Security. Current knowledge of Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) JVMs or similar useful as this is a role where innovation and constantly keeping abreast of technical developments is essential.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are very important as you will be bridging many teams and understanding the business and commercial drivers for the projects you are working on, not just the technical.

  • 2-6 years of previous Dev-ops tools and practices experience
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
