SAN Storage & Backup Consultant - Bridgend - SC Cleared - 3 months + £ per day
3rd Line Senior Storage and Backup Consultant. The role includes storage administration across multiple vendors, and therefore provides excellent opportunity to rapidly build experience. Vendors include Dell, Dell EMC, IBM, NetApp, Hitachi, HP, Oracle (and more). The applicant will undertake all aspects of support and administration of multiple storage and backup infrastructures, delivering business critical services to a wide range of clients.
The successful candidate will already be able to perform the following tasks:
- Storage Administration
- SAN Fabric Administration
- Backup Configuration and Administration
- Automation & Scripting
Backups are primarily managed using Veritas NetBackup, and this tool is deployed across the majority of our estate. Backup administration forms a large part of this role, and there is a strong skill base within the team to support and mentor.
Specific Skills:
- NetApp (FC, CIFS, Snapmirror)
- EMC VNX
- NetBackup (Solaris and Windows)
- Brocade Switches
- Tape libraries
- Command line skills
Desirable Skills:
- DataCore SANsymphony
- HP 3PAR
- HP Data Protector
- Basic Network troubleshooting
- General NAS experience
