Description

Stanton House are currently partnering with a leading FTSE brand to recruit a Section 151 Officer to support their year-end close. The business is seeking a technically strong candidate who has led or played a senior role in a number of year-ends.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody to make a lasting impact within a global organisation at an exciting time.

To be considered for this integral role within a dynamic finance function, you will need:

  • To be responsible for the finalisation of the statement of accounts in accordance with statutory deadlines and all relevant legislation, guidance and codes of practice for all Councils included in the contract.
  • To be responsible for the timely completion and return of the Whole of Government Accounts and other statutory and statistical returns required.
  • Monitor services and track progress to ensure delivery of set plans. Take immediate and well thought out remedial action to resolve serious delivery issues.
  • The post holder must ensure that Health & Safety legislation and Health & Safety requirements are complied with and monitored within.
  • Lead the promotion and delivery of good financial management so that public money is safeguarded at all times and used appropriately, economically, efficiently and effectively.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • Public sector or local government experience is essential
  • Experience within a Section 151 Officer or Deputy Section 151 Officer role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong with all aspect of technical finance
