Description
Our client are currently seeking a DevOps Engineer for dataworks replatforming to work initially on a 6 month contract opportunity to be based in the Yorkshire area.

Summary of the work:
- Design, build and support a platform for data scientists to query client data.
- Support for the existing platform.
- Technical input to project planning.
- Document architectural designs.
- Produce infrastructure as code.
- Develop automated mechanisms for deploying infrastructure and application changes.
- Provide ongoing skills transfer to client staff.
- Support infrastructure security auditing.
Who the specialist will work with:
- Alongside the clients team and other suppliers already in the Dataworks team.
- 3rd party auditors (eg ITHC provider)
- Client digital SRE team (for handover of services for them to support)
- Stakeholders (eg UCFS, analyst community)
What the specialist will work on:
Data ingestion from Universal Credit Full Service, in to Dataworks New AWS Data Platform
Working arrangements:
Flexible working, at the discretion of the supplier to deliver the service. Some travel to other sites may be required in line with client travel and expense policy.
Essential Skills:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of working with the AWS cloud platform within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using 'Infrastructure as Code' to provision and manage cloud infrastructure using terraform within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using Git and GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate knowledge of test and behavioural driven development (TDD and BDD) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using ConcourseCI to provide continuous integration and continuous deployment within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using AWS CloudWatch within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using AWS S3 (Simple Storage Service) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using AWS Key Management Service (KMS) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using AWS Elastic Cloud Compute (EC2) within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of developing in Python within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of developing in Go, Java or Node.js within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using Docker within the last 2 years
Nice to have Skills:
- Demonstrate experience of consuming Apache Kafka data feeds within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using CircleCI to provide continuous integration and continuous deployment within the last 2 years
- Demonstrate experience of using AWS Lambda within the last 2 years
