SAP Basis Consultant will be part of Application support and maintenance function.
The consultant should have hands-on experience on support of SAP Basis module. The consultant would play a key role in managing and maintaining a sound production environment. The consultant will work in an international, distributed and multi-functional team; using agile mindset and methodology.
Responsibilities:
- As support specialist:
- Proactively monitor the application performance and data processing.
- Analysis and reporting issues; fixing within SLA and Transporting changes
- Service Improvements
Key Skills:
- Performance and Monitoring Services Supplier shall provide specific SAP performance and monitoring services.
- Monitoring SAP services including support for SAP buffers, update terminations, SAP lock entries, background jobs, system availability, ABAP dumps, system log, and housekeeping jobs
- Operating System monitoring services including support for Database Monitoring Services, objects (tables and indexes) and database growth, Database extents, memory buffers, transaction logs, database logs; and monitoring of table spaces and indexes
- Proactive monitoring of all interfaces and batch jobs; Provide BASIS assistance in reviews of changes for application and System Performance impact.
- Analyze and resolve Performance issues related to system (BASIS) related components
- Analyze the impact of the workload on the SAP Application and identify needs for additional hardware capacity
- Tune SAP and database application based on load requirements and hardware resource capacity
- Analyze and implement system (BASIS) related GoLive and EarlyWatch recommendations as appropriate, including provide weekly EWA reports.
- Update and Instance Management Supplier shall provide specific SAP update and instance management services.
- Analyze potential technical/BASIS impact of SAP support packages and Kernel/database patches
- Manually implement technical (BASIS) SAP OSS Notes that do not require Development and Object Keys
- Test functionality associated with implementation of SAP Support Packages, plug-ins, add-ons, and LCP's
- Assist with technical aspects related to the development of Customer SAP client strategy
- Secure SAP clients with appropriate settings in accordance with approved Customer strategy; and
- Create new SAP clients within the same SAP system using SAP Client Copy function.
