Description
Resource 1 is seeking an IBM Mainframe Developer with experience in Quality Assurance/Testing for a 6+ month contract with our client based in Rosemont, IL. We are looking for 10+ years of overall Mainframe Development experience and 5 years of experience in Mainframe testing. Individual should have prior knowledge of DB2, SQL, COBOL, and JCL. Must possess the ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently. Having work experience in an onsite-offshore work model is highly desired.
Responsibilities:
- Test applications in a Mainframe (Green Screen) environment
- Create test plans and test strategy documents
- Create detailed test cases that are easily repeatable
- Create and deliver testing estimates, testing metrics (defect metrics), and testing implementation plans
- Create daily/weekly test execution metrics and status reporting
- Query multiple tables with basic to advanced level SQL to find and manipulate data for testing
- Lead and facilitate defect resolution
- Leverage existing tools/techniques to streamline and automate wherever possible
- Actively participate in walk-through, inspection, review and user group meetings for quality assurance
- Participate in production implementation verification and being accountable for validating system quality
- Comply with standards of the software development life cycle and follow strategies, plans, and procedures within Information Technology software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Passion for process improvement and leading industry standards for Quality Assurance Testing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Work with onsite and Offshore model to coordinate/facilitate testing initiatives
