Hybris Technical Architect - Hybris - eCommerce - London

Hybris Technical Architect required to be based on our customer site in Mortimer Street. The successful candidate will be required to lead the application and solution design, assist in solution implementation and be responsible for the technical delivery of complex eCommerce solutions. The candidate will be required to work closely with our clients and our internal delivery teams to ensure our solutions meet the business requirements and are delivered to Wunderman Thompson Commerce principles, standards and best practices. The candidate should be business focused and have a proven track record of delivery.

Hybris Technical Architect Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing and owning innovative technical solutions to fit business requirements, following Wunderman Thompson Commerce delivery approach and ensuring the successful delivery of the solution.
  • Producing and owning architecture design documents covering baseline and target architectures for applications, integrations, data and technology - ensuring the design meets our architecture principles and best practices for the technology platform and justifying the solution design against other options.
  • Producing technical specifications for lead developers covering mid-low level application, interface and database design, including identifying relevant design patterns and application frameworks.
  • Communicating technical architectures and designs to internal teams, including developers and testers.
  • Communicating directly with the customer on all aspects of the technical design, including running design workshops, participating in architecture reviews, providing recommendations and reasons for key design decisions and explaining complex technical designs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicating directly with 3rd parties to agree designs, especially in the integration domain.
  • Identifying impacts of a given solution/architecture and challenging business requirements or suggesting alternate solutions where necessary.
  • Identifying and managing key stakeholders of the architecture change.
  • Working collaboratively with other architects and lead developers to share knowledge and solutions.
  • Estimating the design and implementation effort of large-scale and complex eCommerce solutions and assisting in the delivery, migration and go-live planning.
  • Ownership of the technical delivery, ensuring and demonstrating the quality of the deliverable, from code quality through to performance, scalability and security of the solution.
  • Leading new application/technical architects in all aspects of the above.
  • Keeping informed of technology changes (eg trends, software updates, platform updated, 3rd party solutions) and reviewing these for recommendation into new projects or existing clients.

The techy bit .we need you to be really great at:

  • Have a deep understanding of application architecture and design across the application and integration domains, along with a good understanding of data architecture and design, including relational database design.
  • Extensive design experience in highly complex enterprise scale eCommerce Java/J2EE based environment.
  • You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of software development methodology using J2EE, full project life cycle and a structured approach to design
  • Experience/knowledge of modern design approaches including best use of eCommerce platforms, componentized architectures, micro-services, web components, cloud etc.
  • Knowledge of Change Management process
  • Proven experience of working with SAP Hybris
  • A good understanding of Solr
  • Proven technical leadership skills within an internal team and within a client-facing environment.
  • A thorough understanding of web technologies, including Client Server architecture, security (eg encryption), and caching strategies, with a mind for capacity and performance in all designs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Preferably SAP Hybris v5 or v6 certification
  • Preferably a good knowledge of Spring
  • Preferably a good knowledge of Oracle DB
