Job title: VAT Specialist
Location: Motherwell, UK
Duration: 3 months Contract (possibly be extended)
The VAT specialist will join a VAT team to support VAT compliance process for entities in EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the Group's VAT returns and other VAT declarations
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate filing of VAT returns, Intrastats and EU Sales Lists in the relevant countries
- Reconciliation of VAT accounts
- Provide support to Team leader for tax authority audits and investigations
- Interact with various stakeholders internally and externally
- Provide input and support to Team leader for ad-hoc projects
- Other miscellaneous duties as required
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge and experience with EU VAT matters
- Accounting or tax qualified preferred; Big 4 experience is advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with everyone
- Proactive, self-starter with a can-do attitude
- A good eye for detail and an ability to meet deadlines will be essential, and you'll need be comfortable about working as part of a dynamic, fast-paced business
- Fluency in English; Additional European languages preferred
- Proficient in Excel; SAP experience is an advantage
