Currently require a virtualisation Engineer, to assist my client on a 6 month project due to commence ASAP (Remotely) and continue for a period of 6 months with view for possible further extension.
Due to the nature of the role and the time scale and requirements issued by the client, candidates have been advised to hold current and active SC Clearance for this role.

Overview
This role reports into the Virtualisation Engineering team leader and Hosting capability lead working on various UK programmes and accounts. We are looking for a very experienced Virtualisation Engineer with expertise in VMware and vSphere technologies plus they must also have proven Scripting skills in PowerCLI.
You will apply those skills to:
- Write and maintain scripts written in PowerCLI for automated VMware product deployment and management.
- Utilise a broad spectrum of technology to produce part or all of the technical solution for our clients.
- Apply depth and breadth of technical knowledge and be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise.
- Contribute to knowledge tools and communities, proactively support automation and ensure learnings are shared for reuse.
- You may be expected to work across the range of different projects and customers that we support.
Core Skills and Experience:
- Strong VMware vSphere product experience in designing and engineering solutions
- Strong VMware product administration, hardening and troubleshooting experience
- Strong PowerCLI/PowerShell Scripting skills and experience
- Understanding of virtual and physical server infrastructure capacity, scaling and operation
- Able to write clear and concise implementation and operation guides
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- VMware NSX, VSAN, SRM & vRealize product experience
- Storage experience, preferably Netapp
- Configuration Management
- Experience of infrastructure deployment and management tooling including the use of XML files
- Enterprise networking
- Windows Server OS
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Terminal Services, Citrix XenApp, VDI
