Radio Network Design Specialist, LTE Air to Ground, RAN Design & Performance

We are seeking a RAN Engineer to work for one of the worlds leading telecom giants. This position is fundamental as it has a significant impact on shaping the Mobile RAN Strategy & subsequent budget required to deliver this.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Design Authority and Strategy team to agree key aspects of 4G ESN A2G High Level Design.
  • Deliver Mobile Network Low Level Designs (LLDs) for radio parameters, features and Key Performance Indicators across revelant RAN elements to allow key new services, User Experience uplift, Performance improvement and Network Efficiency improvements to be delivered.
  • Act as main interface for E2E investigations, analysis and design proposals to uplift network. Collaborate with peer teams including those within RAN and Core Network, Transmission Design & Devices to ensure designs are optimal from an E2E perspective.
  • definition of RAN and E2E Customer experience KPIs.
  • design & monitoring of interactions between this Product area and other areas of the network, ie macro network, such as mobility design management and performance.

Technical skills required:

  • In depth knowledge of Mobile networks particularly 4G with particularly deep understanding design and operation.
  • Excellent understanding of how defined RAN KPIs link to Customer Experience.
  • In depth knowledge of WCDMA/LTE & 5G signalling, troubleshooting & Optimisation.
  • Good understanding of 3GPP & ETSI specifications.

The ideal candidate would be based in either Hatfield or Bristol
