JOB TITLE: Windows (secure) DevOps Engineer

Job Purpose/Role

The position offers the opportunity to drive DevOps efficiency at the company level by designing and deploying Infrastructure as a new, centrally managed Windows service in the secure environment locations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT business line DevOps teams to design and build a (centrally managed) Windows OS architecture for support of applications within the company
  • Work in an Agile team to implement and deploy the Windows OS service on private cloud and/or public cloud platforms, including installation, configuration, monitoring and alerts, automation of routine tasks, disaster recovery, etc.
  • Develop procedures and guidelines for operation of the service, including runbooks and training for junior members of the team that will help maintain the service
  • Engage with application development teams and DevOps teams to manage and make efficient use of the IT-supported secure Windows solution
  • Advise on Windows OS best practices; provide support development teams with their use of Windows (whose experience level will range from very basic to very sophisticated)
  • Drive resolution of issues that arise related to the Windows OS service, ensuring effective communication with affected teams and users

Key Requirements/Skills

  • 5-10 years of experience in a DevOps or build engineering role, including at least 5 years of experience with Windows OS in an administrative role for a medium to large organization
  • Academic and/or Bachelor's degree in the area of computer science, computer engineering, or business informatics; or significant similar professional experience
  • Proficiency and proven experience in the following technologies:
    • Windows OS (required)
    • Ansible (highly desired)
    • Scripting knowledge, like powershell
  • VMWare virtualization (preferred)
  • Netapp/NAS/NFS Storage (preferred)
  • Experienced-level knowledge of Continuous Integration and Delivery concepts and best practices
  • Ability to lead and train junior team members
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Willingness to work in an Agile team but also be self-directed with high engagement
  • Excellent social skills and ability to work effectively with global stakeholders and remote colleagues via Skype, MS-Teams, and other collaboration technologies
