SC Voice Engineer

Birmingham

Must have a current valid Security Clearance (SC)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for Voice Engineers to begin work on a new project for a leading Telecommunications company based in Birmingham. The primary focus of this project is to provide testing, monitoring and verification on the correct application of data amendments across the various switched voice network elements.

You will be working alongside 3rd line Voice engineers managing the Network CAB process to ensure enough monitoring resources are available at agreed implementation times.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

Operational responsibility for Real Time monitoring and control of Voice traffic on the switched network.

Ensure under all network conditions that implementation of data amendments is successful and successful call completions are observed in order to minimise lost calls and potential service disruption for our customers.

Overview surveillance tools and ensure they are reporting accurately.

Must always be compliant with Network Change CAB processes.

Work directly with VBTS teams for monitoring and swift resolution of any issues or incidents that may occur as a result of the data implementation.

Track record in delivering excellent customer service and operational excellence.

In depth understanding of customers, products, and Voice switch platforms.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and vocal communication skills.

Excellent analytical skills

Excellent working knowledge of the Voice networks and routings.

Excellent working knowledge of Voice Over IP and emerging technologies.

Able to work in a high-pressure environment.

The ability to work well within a small team to meet/exceed customer requirements through broad based technical knowledge and customer service skills

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

UK Government SC Clearance.

A good knowledge of C7 and other telecoms protocols including SIP.

Track record in delivering excellent customer service and operational excellence.

Preferable to have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Voice Telecoms environment.

Beneficial to have excellent proven working knowledge of relevant listed Voice switch types and the routing/data build structure within these elements.

Beneficial to have working knowledge of Traffic Management principles.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and vocal communication skills.
