Description
Harvey Nash's public sector client are currently looking to recruit at Head of Investment for a 6 month period. Joining their team in Edinburgh, you will be responsible for managing a team of specialist investment risk professionals in a development bank, leading the assessment of investment risk across all potential investments (debt and equity) considered by the investment team.
Main Duties:
- Ensuring the investment risk team works effectively alongside the investment origination team providing independent analysis of risks and constructive risk mitigating strategies into the investment origination process from the start.
- Establishing and managing appropriate investment risk policies and procedures for: the consideration of investment opportunities; the ongoing monitoring of investments; and investment risk across a growing and diverse investment portfolio, which will be investing across the capital structure.
- Managing a team contributing relevant content and views to regular reviews of investments as part of ongoing investment portfolio management alongside investment team colleagues.
- Establishing and embedding policies and procedures for the management of distressed investments in a development bank context.
- Contributing the evaluation of risk/reward on the basis of financial returns as well as social impact returns given the mission-orientated investment activity of the development bank.
