Description
Systems Integration Engineer with active SC Clearance and knowledge of GIS technologies is required by my client for an initial 12 month contract with the view to extending for up to 2 years beyond that point.
This Systems Integration Engineer role will see you undertake the following duties:
- Defining processes for, implementing & validating multiple data loads into existing product (training will be given)
- Contribute to GIS experiments, including interoperability with clients and web services (ESRI/OGC)
- Contribute to GIS data analysis and ETL using FME
- Create reports and documentation outlining findings and solutions
- Install and update operating systems, 3rd party software, update documentation and support procedures/activity reports
- Troubleshoot faults in the data load process
We require a good cross section of the following skills:
- GIS tools - eg: ESRI ArcMap, Arc Server, QGIS
- Familiarity with WMS, WFS, WCS services
- Knowledge of Geoserver and/or GeoWebCache
- Virtualisation - VMWare - ESXi, Workstation & Hyper-V
- Windows Server Operating system - Server 2012 R2, 2016 & 2019
- Windows Active Directory, DNS, GPOs
- Database Management/Use - MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostGIS
Advantageous technical knowledge:
- Backup management - eg: Veeam
- Reverse Proxy
- Familiarity with FME
- Web Servers - eg: Apache Tomcat
- Scripting - eg: Powershell, batch
- Security Management layer for a website
- HP F5
- Metadata profiles - MGMP2
- Knowledge of Load Balancing
- Software languages - eg: Java, Python, JSON
- Experience of working in server rooms
- Experience in handling sensitive material (data, reports)
This Systems Integration Engineer contract is due to start mid-June with interviews to kick off next week. Please note, we cannot entertain applications for candidates who do not have active SC Clearance at this time.
