Description

Our Government client in Bristol require a Payroll Officer/Assistant to provide administrative support to the monthly financial/management accounting processes that support the wider business to deliver its objectives.

*This role is SC Cleared so you will be required to undergo the security clearance process.*

The Role:

  • Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial statements to senior managers, in line with business requirements and both statutory and regulatory duties, to agreed deadlines, including supporting documentation to audit standard.
  • Provide regular written analysis that summarises and analyses financial activity, including the identification and explanation for variances.
  • Manage and coordinate the completion of balance sheet reconciliations, to agreed timetables, ensuring that they accurately reflect activity.
  • Provide support to the business to include policy development, planning, performance, service delivery and governance.
  • Provide administrative support to the business area to include the preparation of documents, typing and co-ordinating departmental correspondence, arranging meetings, diary management, minute taking, maintain, develop and review office systems/processes, travel bookings including accommodation/car reservations, organise events and raise purchase orders in support of departmental procurement activity
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records for management information purposes, using IT systems to record (eg absence, security, finance, training, and equipment inventories).
  • Carry out effective file management and ensure compliance with corporate filing/records administration policy.
  • Support departmental website design and ensure the site is kept up to date.
