Wanted: Safety Assessor (m/f/d) in Kuala Lumpur

For a client within the service industry I am searching for a Safety Assessor (m/f/d) in the Kuala Lumpur region


Your tasks:

• when tasked with independent safety assessment, ensure to not become involved either directly or as authorized representative in the design, manufacture, construction, marketing, operation or maintenance of the system under independent assessment. (This does not exclude the possibility of exchange of technical information)
• establish understanding of the system within the intended environment of application
• develop an assessment plan and communicate this to the safety authority and/or the client organisation (contracting body of the assessor)
• evaluate the conformity of the process and the outcomes against the requirements of European Standard CENELEC 50126, including the SIL assignment
• evaluate the competency of project staff and organisation for the development
• evaluate the verification and validation activities and the supporting evidence
• evaluate the quality management systems adopted for the development
• evaluate the configuration and change management system and the evidence of its use and application
• identify and evaluate in terms of risk (impact) any deviations from the requirements in the assessment report
• evaluate that safety audits have been carried out and documented in an appropriate way
• carry out inspections on the overall development process as appropriate at various phases of development
• give a professional view on the fitness of the developed outcome for its intended use, detailing any constraints, application conditions and observations for risk control as appropriate
• develop and maintain records and reports in accordance with the assessment plan

Key competencies:

• be competent in the domain/technologies where independent assessment is carried out
• have acceptance/licence from a recognised safety authority
• have / strive to continually gain sufficient levels of experience in the safety principles and the application of the principles within the application domain
• be competent to check that a suitable method or combination of methods in a given context have been applied
• be competent in understanding the relevant safety, human resource, technical and quality management processes in fulfilling the requirements of the EN 50126
• be competent in independent assessment approaches/methodologies
• have analytical thinking ability and good observation skills
• be capable of combining different sources and types of evidence and synthesise an overall view about fitness for purpose or constraints and limitations on application
• have an understanding of the overall system including its application environment
• understand the requirements of EN 50126
• very good english skills
