Role:
Hands-on Telecoms resource based on offshore oil and gas platforms working a 3 weeks offshore, 3 weeks field break rotation

Overview of Service to be provided:
This Service requires Telecoms resources who can provide technical expertise in the delivery of Telecoms & SCADA services to offshore installations
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
BOSIET Offshore Survival, Offshore Medical, MIST Training
Emergency Communication Systems: PA/GA Systems, PABX, Hotlines, Intercoms, hand portable radios, pagers, VHF/UHF (Aero/Marine), EPIRB, Radio base stations (UHF); Trunks radios, Satellite phones
Collaboration - ability to assist with IP Telephony, Video Conferencing, TV distribution
Surveillance & Navigation - NDB, Radar, CCTV, DGPS, Meteorological
Connectivity - Satellte; Line of Sight Radio; Fibre Optic Communication; Structured Cabling
Power - UPS, DC Systems, Battery Banks (Owned by the Electrical TA, but may be delegated to FTT)
Supervisory Systems - Telecoms Shutdown, SCADA/Data Systems, PCN/PIN Firewall (Owned by Controls & Instrumentation TA but may be delegated to FTT)

EX Certification
Day to Day Services to be provided:
To provide telecommunication support for asset or platform, including maintenance, calibration and modification.
Carry out planned maintenance routines to meet safety legislative and company standards
Provide COE & PC Support
Provide IT back-up services to the platform and carry out system administration role on platform based Servers
Be familiar with the use of Maximo and Backbone, and raise work orders and job reports.
Act as Competent Person for electrical isolation of telecommunication equipment, and be fully conversant with the use of permit to work system.
Establish and maintain a good working environment and relationship with other disciplines.
Comply with the Safety Management Systems, particular in regard to management of change and modifications to equipment
Liaise with Onshore service providers and 3rd party interfaces
Other Information:
The services will be delivered on a 3 weeks offshore, 3 weeks field break basis with the standard offshore day being 12 hours, with a requirement to work additional hours if requested by the offshore installations.
There may be a requirement to attend onshore training
Field Telecoms Technicians are responsible for their own training to allow them to work offshore including BOSIET Offshore Survival, Offshore Medical, MIST Training and EX-Certification (COMPEX)
Field Telecoms Technicians are responsible for the cost of their own accommodation if they need to stay overnight prior to travelling offshore.
