Python/Gurobi Developer - Leading Utilities Company
An exciting opportunity exists for a Python/Gurobi Developer at a Leading Utilities company. You will be responsible for Domain Data Processing and Linear Programming using Python and Gurobi.
Location: Wokingham
Duration: 6 months
Daily Rate: Markets rates
Key Responsibilities:
- You will work as python mathematical programming expert in a large complex agile project to implement a new optimisation system for Electricity resource scheduling & dispatch
- Analyse requirements and understand functionality that is required to be implemented using Python and Gurobi
- Work with Business experts, business analyst, solution architect on day to day basis
- Design the Python application to meet functional and non-functional requirements ( mission critical, high availability, heavy duty, high performance etc.)
- Develop Python with high quality and coding standards/best practices
- Deploy the Python code into various environments
- Conduct code reviews and come up with improvements
- Support SIT and UAT
- Support cutover, go-live activities
Key Requirements:
- 2 to 10 years of relevant experience in Python programming and its application for complex problem solving, optimisation, data processing, prediction etc.
- 1 to 10 years of Experience in Optimisation application using Gurobi/CPLEX/Xpress product
- Programming experience in C/C++
- Experience in Python based interface/integration development with other systems running in different operating systems ( using webservice, remote procedure calls, APIs, database links etc. )
- Experience in Linear Programming, mixed integer programming, algebraic modelling language ( AMPL )
- Expertise in Mathematical algorithms
- Problem Solving methods and algorithm development.
- Prototype and evaluations.
- Expertise in data processing for prediction, forecasting, transformation using Python
- Expertise in Mathematical and constraint modelling
- Experience in Visualization and reporting using Tableau/Power BI
- Strong knowledge in operational research and optimisation
- Knowledge of Electricity industry including Electricity Balancing
- Experience in application of CPLEX/Gurobi/Xpress optimisation products for Electricity Unit Commitment problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in Agile software development environment with multi vendors
