Survey data processing consultant - The consultant will have at least a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent in information technology, statistics, demography, or any other related technical field with special expertise in data processing and management. The consultant will have extensive knowledge of CSPro, SPSS, or STATA software; and familiarity with IHSN Microdata Management Toolkit is an asset. The consultant will have extensive experience in computing and designing computerized processing of data collected from large-scale sample surveys of households and enterprises. The consultant will work closely with the sampling survey consultants and DOS staff, and will transfer knowledge to DOS staff to strengthen their capacity in survey data processing. In particular the consultant will
(i) develop the system design for processing data collected in household and establishment surveys;
(ii) design data entry programs for the survey questionnaire;
(iii) assist the DOS in completing the data entry by supervising the data entry of the data collected in the survey questionnaire using the designed system;
(iv) provide adequate training to data entry staff and the supervisors of the data processing unit;
(v) ensure the survey questionnaire, data entry, system design, and other data processing and programming will allow regression of data based on sex, age, location, ethnicity, and other features;
(vi) develop computerized validation programs for checking the validity and consistency of data;
(vii) work with the sample survey expert for data analysis, and produce tables in accordance with the tabulation plan;
(viii) support the preparation of tables and graphs; and
(ix) provide hands-on training to the DOS staff in survey data processing and programming.
