Accounts Assistant - 6 month contract - Remote- 200 a dayAn excellent opportunity has arisen with a leading financial for an Accounts Assistant to assist with our clients significant finance transformation.
Role:
Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, including bank, as a key control to identify and resolve any issues which arise and ensure accurate numbers are reported through the financial statements.
Preparation and posting of journals to reflect movements in the accounts
Preparation of payments in accordance with the company's relevant payment procedures
Oversight of Direct Debit collection processes ensuring any queries or rejections are followed up
Handling of internal and external queries including with Customer Service team.
Assisting with annual internal and external audit when required.
.Maintaining good filing system.
Requirements:
Financial Acumen
oStrong control environment background and expertise.
oExperienced in reconciliations and application of financial controls
oAbility to identify and investigate unusual financial items and follow up finance related queries
oUnderstanding of accounting processes, including accounts payable end to end process
General:
oStrong customer service orientation.
oTakes full ownership and responsibility for delivery of assigned tasks in agreed timescales.
oKeen attention to detail.
oAble to work both independently and as part of a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
oGood communication across all teams within the business
oAbility to manage key stakeholders when dealing with invoices and expenses
Desirable:
Commenced study of AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification
Experience working in Insurance or other financial services preferred
Prior work experience in a multinational organisation preferred
