KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1 Read and understand client installation standards & procedures. Able to follow and implement from complex design drawings/schematics.
2 Ensure all activities you complete on site comply with Health & Safety requirements for all both generic and specific to individual project, site types, customers and projects.
3 Assist with development of BTS second men and BTS trainees
4 Assist with site health and safety assessments and review/control existing risks
5 Undertake tool box talks with other members of your team
6 Always act in a professional manner demonstrating a positive and confident attitude
7 Ensure risk assessments and method statements are suitable and effect a positive outcome on the task (CPHSP)

9 Assist with dynamic site solutions where required
10 The ability to work as part of a team or to own initiative.
11 The ability to complete the Installation, Commission and Integration (IC&I) of vendor BTS equipment in accordance with specific customer Work Instructions. Final site handover documentation to be completed accurately for final submission within agreed timelines
12 Excellent PC and Microsoft Office Skills. Knowledge and experience of the different types of communicating, management soft and firmware, for the different vendor BTS/Power and Transmission equipment.
13 A full UK Driving Licence
SKILLS
Knowledge of telecoms sub-systems and vendor/operator equipment
KNOWLEDGE
Health & Safety legislation
Detailed technical knowledge of various vendors equipment such as Nokia, Huawei, Ericsson etc. Working knowledge and understanding of each technology and generation to include, GSM, UMTS, LTE and the different frequencies and their characteristics and Architecture; RAN, Core etc. Ability to interpret performance stats and test results, including management reports and voice/data calls to ensure correct system operability. Understanding of each system type and interoperability- RF system performance and characteristics, Fibre and Remote module, MHA and Gain, Attenuation, Combining/Diplexing/Splitting, Sectorisation, Return Loss and PIM. Understanding of the different transmission systems, at each layer, Physical connection, 75,120 Ohm, ATM, Ethernet, IP etc.
Full understanding of Commissioning Scripts and instructions. Able to follow complex installation and RF Drawing Schematics. Understanding of operator Site share and RAN share systems
Quality of installation and effective issue reporting
EXPERIENCE
- +3 years mobile networks experience
- Working at height (rooftop)
- First Aid At height
- RF Awareness
- AC and DC Awareness
- I,C&I on projects to include, Swap, Upgrade and Initial build of all techs: 2G, 3G and 4G equipment and sites
- Ability to mentor staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- Full UK driving licence
- BTEC in advanced Mobile Communications
- Vendor Specific BTS equipment qualifications and sign off
- 3rd party access approval - Arqiva etc
- Electrical Qualifications AC/DC
- Good IT Skills, Email, Excel and Word
