Job location: Tottenham Court Road, London, W1 Job status: Permanent/Full time -we are open to requests for flexible working Reporting to: Director of Marketing Deadline: 25th September 2020Purpose of the job Playing an important role in our campaign as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), The Deputy Director of Marketing will report to and support the work of the Director of Marketing across all marketing department functions. In the absence of the Director of Marketing, or in specific instances when required, the Deputy Director of Marketing will act on behalf of the Director of Marketing.Key tasks / responsibilities Support the Director of Marketing in the development and implementation of Smart Energy GB's marketing campaign strategy across all paid and owned channels -Support core channel & activity planning. -Lead additional cross department strategic projects. -Support the Director of Marketing in ensuring the marketing strategy is robust and clearly articulated to all staff and key stakeholders at all times -Support the Director of Marketing and SLT in the development of Smart Energy GB's annual business and budget plan.Support the Director of Marketing in delivering a fully integrated approach across all marketing activities led by the Head of Brand & Consumer Advertising, Head of Digital, and Deputy Director of Specialist Audiences. -Ensure systematic forward planning & integration of all marketing activities -Oversee and prepare organisation wide campaign plans for internal and external stakeholder engagement. -Prepare agendas for Marketing senior level meetings.Lead the development of activity and implementation of Smart Energy GB's strategies on energy management (usage), business, and local pilots: -Ensure these strategies and activity are properly consulted on, aligned with the overall campaign strategy and is continually evaluated and optimised. -Chairing/or generally leading cross-industry working groups on such activity.Support the Director of Marketing in preparation of presentations and other inputs for management, board, and other key internal or external meetings. Deputise for the Director of Marketing at such meetings when requiredWork with the Deputy Director of Strategy & Insight on the development and implementation of a robust evaluation strategy to drive efficiency and effectiveness across all marketing activity -Contribution to development of metrics and targets for annual business plan -Work with Head of Insight on tools/ways of working to drive insight led planning and evaluation across the teamSupport the Director of Marketing and the SLT to ensure a joined up approach across both the Marketing, and Communications (PR, Corporate Affairs & Policy) teams. -Chair Heads of meetings (Marketing, Policy & Comms & Agencies) and deputise for the Director of Marketing, as required, at other key meetings/updates with the Comms team.Support the Director of Marketing in building Smart Energy GB's competence for world class behaviour change marketing and creating a legacy of learning for peers and the wider marketing industry -Lead development of behaviour change insight, strategy, tools, activity and evaluation -Cascade behaviour change learning & best practice across the organisation -Lead marketing effectiveness awards strategy and oversee its implementation (creation of case studies).Support the Director of Marketing in the management of department finances -Responsible for maintaining oversight of Marketing Department budget, attend all budget holder month end meetings, serve as first point of contact for Head of Finance & Operations. -Provide the Director of Marketing with monthly overview of department budget and escalate any issues/identify opportunities to deploy the budget most effectively -Provide sign off/approvals for department and POs and invoices between £1k-50K -Work with Director of Marketing, Head of Finance & Operations and Marketing Team Assistant to optimise the process/tools available to enable effective financial planning, accounting and delegated budget approval.Maintain overview and provide final sign off of all briefs and creative assets pertaining to select campaign strands, as agreed with Director of Marketing, and on other work as and when required.Support Director of Marketing in development of: -Staffing plan and support Heads of in development of team planning, role definition and recruitment. -Development and implementation of strategy for diversity and inclusion for the marketing function, both in ways of working and our output to consumers. -Education of Marketing directorate, on issues in the industry and latest smart meter knowledge.Line management of the Head of Brand and Advertising, and Head of Digital.Be an active member of the SLT and contribute to the leadership of the organisation.To apply for the role How you demonstrate to us that you meet the criteria for role, as outlined in the job description, is up to you.
