Solution Architect, Online, Product, Platform, Content, Services - 4 Months contract - London - £700 a day
My client - Global Media company - are seeking to recruit an experienced Solution Architect to join their team. The client is embarking on a new journey as they move away from their Legacy platform to a more strategically aligned solution. (Home working with occasional travel to UK offices)
Duties include:
- working on strategically aligned and prioritised initiatives within Portfolio, primarily in the discovery phase of the life cycle.
- Analyse and solve problems, especially in the areas of complex Legacy applications and systems
- Delivering architectures and designs in a collaborative and devolved way across multiple product teams, bringing leadership for the broad architecture, integration patterns and data domains
- Provide deep domain expertise in the systems and technologies behind asset management, content information management, rights and scheduling workflows, as well as video, audio, subtitle and audio description formats, application architectures, and technology transformation.
- Aligning solutions within their architectural principles and gaining buy-in from technology and business stakeholders
- Ability to communicate, rationalise and explain technology decisions and options to non-technical audiences, including how the architecture supports business objectives and workflows.
- Working with systems undergoing change, specifically to understand the detail of the as-is solution architecture, such that tranches of change can be delivered in a way that minimises operational and business impact
- Working across multiple product, operations and business user teams, incorporating wide ranging and sometimes conflicting objectives into a coherent to-be architecture
Looking for candidates with similar experience ideally with the following experience:
- Proven experience in Solution Architecture that has been involved in deep domain expertise in the systems and technologies behind asset management, content information management, rights and scheduling workflows, application architectures, and technology transformation.
- A track record in defining and overseeing the implementation of systems in the content management and broadcast space
- Has worked with agile and waterfall delivery models, but majoring on working with multiple product teams
- Experience of both software and infrastructure based projects
- Strong experience of API design and rationale
- Content ingest, management and delivery technology - MAM, workflow, storage, archive
- File delivery/acceleration - Signiant, Aspera, SFTP, syndication platforms
- Database technologies
- Caching and distribution technologies; CDNs - eg Limelight, Akamai, Amazon Cloudfront
- Cloud IaaS/PaaS, compute, storage and networking designed for security and scale, with Infrastructure as Code configuration management.
- Enterprise messaging systems eg JBoss, rabbitMQ etc.
- Ideally exp with Broadcast and Advertising Management Systems - scheduling, traffic, sales
- Ideally exp with Playout technology, eg automation, playout Servers, broadcast video signal processing
