BMA Consultant

Our client in London is after a BMA Consultant to start a contract role ASAP.

  • 20% Onboarding and preparation
    • Analysis and understanding
      • Engage with Policy owners, understand clients Policies/Procedures.
        • BMA, SDLC, Test Management, Backup, Identity and Access Management etc
      • Engage with Risk to understand Cluster 7 artefacts
        • Current questionnaire
        • The assessment results from Cluster 7
        • Analysis of what's remaining
    • Design/continued enhancement of generic aspects of BMA procedure
      • Review current BMA procedure
      • Implement controls for a single basic excel BMA.
      • Continuously evolve procedures as feedback is received, with scale in mind.
        • We want to ensure these procedures can be scaled via templates or automation (eg setup of environments and access management for excel via scripts)
        • Ideally the procedure should have enough detail so that IT savvy BMA owners could implement the controls themselves.
      • Review/update control estimates continuously as we iterate through implementation .
    • Align & validate control procedures with BMA Project and BMA co-ordinators.
    • Meet with BMA owners to understand the application and how their missing controls can be implemented. This should be co-ordinated via BMA co-ordinators.
  • 80% Implementation of missing controls for all BMAs in scope
    • Options in order of priority:
      • level 1 Solutions - BMA implemented
        • Quick wins - The consultant will prioritise quick wins. A brief explanation of the procedure by the consultant may be enough for BMA owners to execute the controls themselves. This would include paper based controls.
        • Level 2 Solutions - IT consultant implemented
          • If BMA Owners are not able implement some controls, the consultants will be required to implement the defined Level 2 BMA procedure. This will be a mix of generic and application specific actions.
